I think it’s intoxicating when somebody is so unapologetically who they are.

I took a deep breath and listened to the old bray of my heart. I am. I am. I am.

I am convinced that if we are to get on the right side of the world revolution, we as a nation must undergo a radical revolution of values. We must rapidly begin the shift from a “thing-oriented” society to a “person-oriented” society. When machines and computers, profit motives and property rights are considered more important than people, the giant triplets of racism, materialism, and militarism are incapable of being conquered. A true revolution of values will soon cause us to question the fairness and justice of many of our past and present policies.

Sometimes it seems like we’re all living in some kind of prison, and the crime is how much we hate ourselves. It feels good to get really dressed up once in a while, and admit the truth: that when you really look closely, people are so strange, and so complicated, that they’re actually…beautiful. Possibly even me.

Crying does not indicate that you are weak. Since birth, it has always been a sign that you are alive.

Pretty girl, pretty girl
Do you hate her because she’s pieces of you?

That is why it is so important to let certain things go. To release them. To cut loose. People need to understand that no one is playing with marked cards; sometimes we win and sometimes we lose. Don’t expect to get anything back, don’t expect recognition for your efforts, don’t expect your genius to be discovered or your love to be understood. Complete the circle. Not out of pride, inability or arrogance, but simply because whatever it is no longer fits in your life. Close the door, change the record, clean the house, get rid of the dust. Stop being who you were and become who you are.

And you are worth the time it takes to take the time to get to know you. We’ve managed to muddle through the awkward stage of I like you and you like me, but when we both finally said ‘yes’ life became a multiple choice test, not knowing anything we became each others best guess. And, holding your hand is less like exploration and more like discovery. Lady, I don’t have to study you to be sure. You’re the choice I made before I knew what the other choices were.

You are not a drop in the ocean.
You are the entire ocean in a drop.

It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade.
